LWW (BBC) Rated by Rebekah Walton

Yes, I am rating the BBC version right now. I rated with an A. If you want one that is correct to the book you have to the right place except in a few minor areas. These are the things that downgrade the movie from an A+ to an A. Lucy was way to plump for my liking and Susan had blond hair in this one. In the books, Lucy has blond hair but (excluding the horribly made and not worth mentioning at all the animated 1979 version) none of the movies can seem to give Lucy blond hair. THe best6 they can seem to do in this one is give blond hair to Susan. (Eventhough, in the books Susan clearly had dark hair.) I did not mind Peter (Richard Dempsey)he was in all respects Peter from Narnia. In both movies they picked great actors for all of the Pevensies. Overall, this movie did a great job of adapting Narnia into a movie. I still dio enjoy watching it eventhough it's animated creatures and talking animals leaves most people with something to be desired. In otherwords, this is a great movie and if you can ignore the people in animal costumes and watch the animation then this is an excellent version for you. I personally love it!

Despicable Me Rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated it with a C+. It was indeed funny, but it lacked real depth even what job he was going to do now that he was not a villian. How the minions were going toi keep on being employed I have no clue. It bewildered me. Plus, as many people have brought up in the past, what are minions? How did he finds a lot of them and does he have the only ones in the World? All these things that made me wonder and the fact that they used Steve Carell's voice in this movie downgraded it to a C+. Although, you will notice that this is a better rating than Voyage of the Dawn Treader by Walden and Fox. But almost no movie except for Harry Potter could be worse than that. In other words, this movie was okay, but not good enough to even buy. Please do not spend a lot of money renting this either.

Courageous Rated by Rebekah Walton

I gave it an A++. Usually, I don't go to theaters and watch movies. This has happened only a couple of times before. With Narnia(two of the 3)Veggietales Pirates movie, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, and now Courageous. This movie had the humor I was looking for( nore humor than the other movies they had made). This was the fourth movie made by Sherwood. Some of other popular ones were: Facing the Giants and Fireproof. Most people have at least watched one of those movies. So, I was expecting this movie to be awesome like their last one. It definitely was! There was of course one brave message that shown through: ''Fathers should live in the way they want their children live in. If they want their son to act like a man they should show him how it is done. They should be there for their children.'' We have a lot of dads even in tv shows that don't act like real fathers. This movie even has a surprise ending. You most definitely will not be able to tell me when the movie about to end. I was very surprised when the movie ended. This movie was more enjoyable than the last ones. I haven't yet rated two of their movies: Facing the Giants and their first movie Flywheel. This movie is even rated PG-13 for violence. I mean that right there should get you coming to theaters or buying or renting this movie to watch this. What movie other then the Passion do you know that is Christian related to get a rating higher than PG? This movie really does have something to offer. Please see this movie!

Tangled Rated by Rebekah Walton

Before I give the grade I gave the movie I want to mention that I read about this movie on wikipedia before I watched it. I rated this movie with an A. This was probably one of my least favorite fairytale. But they they did it pretty well. I liked the fact that she loved her ''mother''(the witch) . And her ''mother'' was so nice to her or acted like she was nice to till the really end. Of course, she did have times where she got mad at Rapunzel like in the ''Rapunzel knows best'' but she did act like just an overprotective mother. I loved Eugene Fitzherbert/Flynn Rider. He was definitely funny and in the end you could really tell he loved her. Of course it was a musical so that was awesome and my favorite song was,''When Will My Life Begin?'' It definitely showed something I had never thought of. Which was what Rapunzel could possibly be doing for years in a tower. But if you watch this movie search for the surprise ending about Rapunzel's hair. This was kind of why I gave it only an A. But definitely an awesome movie to watch.

Inception Rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated it with A. This story was very interesting. I guess what everyone probably wishes me to talk about is the spining top ending. My theory I have not heard from many people so, I will tell you my theory. Cobb was having problems with his wife Mal showing up in his dreams right? Also, because of this he got very anxious when he woke up from his dreams where Mal showed up(when Ariadne got killed by Mrs. Cobb in her first shared dream, The dream where Cobb was trying out the sedative drug) and went immediately to spin the top. But after he woke from the three dreams at the end he was pretty calm. I believe that was because he left his guilt of Mal behind. I think that he got another grasp on reality and therefore knew he was in the real world but only spun the top as a force of habit. So, in the end yes, I believe he was in the real world. But now enough about my theory and on to why I gave it the rating I did. I really enjoyed the story and most of made sense. I mostly rated it down for the number of things that didn't make any sense. For example: Mal's top that Cobb used for his totem.

Princess Bride Rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated it with an A. I rated it this way because I felt it needed more cool clothes in it although it was pretty well done.I felt the acting and directing were well done but it lacked Makeup/Prosthetics area especially when it came the R.O.U.S. But when you consider when it was made you can think about it and they actually did a pretty good job.I think in general, most people have watched this movie but most do not know about the book. It was based on a book. I have heard that the book is cool and also has one chapter all about hats. But I have not currently read the book. I plan to do that but for now, I will just rate the movie. The quotes in this movie are known far and wide. But sometimes it is cool to watch clips of them. So, here are some clips:

http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/princess-bride-the-wedding/b68a45fe45d8547314c3b68a45fe45d8547314c3-415873172898?q=princess+bride+clips&FORM=VIRE3www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3W5GDkgf2w
But for those who haven't watched the movie, here is a basic outline plot of the movie:
The film is an enactment of the following story read by a sick boy's grandfather (Falk) as the boy (Savage) sits in bed listening, framed and occasionally interrupted by scenes of the reading.

A beautiful young woman named Buttercup (Robin Wright) lives on a farm in the fictional country of Florin. Whenever she gives her farmhand Westley (Cary Elwes) an order, he answers "As you wish!" and happily complies. Eventually she realizes he loves her and admits her love for him. Westley leaves to seek his fortune so they can marry, but his ship is attacked by the Dread Pirate Roberts.

Five years later, believing Westley dead, Buttercup reluctantly agrees to marry Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon), heir to the throne of Florin. Before the wedding, she is kidnapped by three outlaws: a short Sicilian boss named Vizzini (Wallace Shawn), a gigantic wrestler from Greenland named Fezzik (André the Giant), and a Spanish fencing master named Inigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin), who seeks revenge against the six-fingered man who killed his father. The outlaws are pursued by Prince Humperdinck with a complement of soldiers, and also by a masked man in black.

The man in black catches up to the outlaws at the top of the Cliffs of Insanity, where he defeats Inigo in a duel and knocks him unconscious, chokes Fezzik until he blacks out, and kills Vizzini by tricking him into drinking poison. When he tells Buttercup he is Roberts, she becomes enraged at him for killing Westley and shoves him into a gorge, but she realizes he is Westley himself when he replies "As you wish!" She dives into the gorge after him, and they flee through the dangerous Fire Swamp. When they are captured on the other side by Humperdinck and his sadistic six-fingered vizier Count Rugen (Christopher Guest), Buttercup agrees to return with Humperdinck in exchange for Westley's release, but Humperdinck secretly has Rugen imprison and torture Westley.

When Buttercup expresses unhappiness at marrying Humperdinck, he promises to search for Westley, but his real plan is to start a war with the neighboring country of Guilder by killing Buttercup and framing them for her death. Buttercup taunts Humperdinck after learning that he never tried to find Westley. Enraged, Humperdinck tortures Westley almost to death. Meanwhile, Inigo and Fezzik meet when Humperdinck orders a gang of goons to arrest the thieves in a nearby forest, and Fezzik tells Inigo about Rugen. Inigo decides that they need Westley's help to get into the castle, and when he hears cries of anguish, he realizes they must be from Westley. Inigo and Fezzik find Westley and fear him dead, but they bring him to a wizard named Miracle Max (Billy Crystal), who explains that Westley is "only mostly dead" and revives him to a state of heavy paralysis.

After Westley, Inigo, and Fezzik invade the castle, Humperdinck orders the wedding ceremony shortened and Inigo finds and kills Rugen in a duel, repeatedly reciting his greeting of vengeance: "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." Westley finds Buttercup, who is about to commit suicide, and assures her that her marriage is invalid because she never said "I do." Still partly paralyzed, he bluffs his way out of a duel with Humperdinck, then rides away with Buttercup, Inigo, and Fezzik.

Back in the boy's bedroom, the boy asks his grandfather to read the story to him again the next day, to which the grandfather replies, "As you wish."

This was funny, romantic, and sword dueling movie. But it is still not the best movie out there so it got an A.

Forever Young Rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated it with a B. It wasn't that bad and it wasn't that great. Our family only really watched because it had Elijah Wood in it. (One of older sisters is fan of Elijah Wood.) But it also has Mel Gibson in it. So, you could just watch the movie because he is in it. It is a story about a guy who flies planes(Mel Gibson). Because of the tragic state of his girlfriend (she is in a coma) he lets his crazy friend do an experiment on him. The experiment is testing if they can freeze someone alive and they can unfreeze them years later and the person is still alive. Years pass, Mel Gibson is still in the frozen state. Then, he gets woken up by two buys one of them is Elijah Wood. Now the year is 1992. Now he has to find his girlfriend who is out of the coma and alive and marry her. That is the basic plot. It was okay except there were some really creepy weird parts. Like when Mel Gibson kisses the mom of Elijah Wood. But overall, they had a good plot.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated with a C-. One positive thing before I tell you why I gave it this grade, this movie gave me more respect for Prince Caspian. So, much to the effect that I have now changed my rating for Prince Caspian. To do this rating though I decided to look over each factor of the movie and tell you and overview of what I thought of each.

Later, if I have a lot of time on my hands I might go shot by shot telling you what I don't like and what I do. It will be much longer than my Narniaweb one.Now for an overview of Acting. The acting I thought was done very well in general. I loved Will Poulter's acting! (He was the best, if anything that is what saved this movie from being a complete fluke.)

Skandar was pretty good at acting too but there were a few almost fakey spots. Although,I don't know that I can blame him, it could be the director telling him to do that. Georgie had sorta of odd ways of saying her lines and some were totally creepy again I don't know if I can blame her. But I guess if that was just her than I guess her acting was just okay.

Ben Barnes seemed to have the same problems as Skandar. They both had problems with acting sad that they found lords dead. Their mourning didn't last long. Skandar had problems with acting sad about Eustace burning. Again, I am not sure whether it is their fault only. But in general I gave it a A. Next, I will overview what I thought directing was. If I am really blaming the horrible movie on the director Apted then it should be a pretty bad rating and it is. They also had some pretty cheesy lines through the movie.I gave directing a C.

Digital Effects were very well done compared to some of the other things in this film. There were some to be sure like the Dufflepuds that needed improvement and some shots of Aslan. But overall, I thought it was very well done and I even liked the dragon, even though I think it looks weird on the poster. I gave that an A. The music at times was distracting like during the Duel between Reepicheep and Eustace and during the other Duel between Caspian and Edmund. I kept looking for people playing musical instruments on the ship.

I loved the Cinematography! I know that other people had problems with it but I am not usually go at noticing if the shots look bad. I really loved the shots of locations and things. I gave that an A.The adaptation is the part of the movie I gave the worst rating to. I gave it a D. They kinda of took the name and cut out the plot of the story in the book and then added another plot. I guess they still had a little of the really plot left but most of it was covered up by the plot they made up. A fragment of the plot made it through the film.

There was no really going out to find adventure and honor in the end. Although the honor was there in the beginning. Not to mention the plot they put in didn't made a whole lot of sense. What was the green mist doing? Why was it doing what it was doing? By the end of it you were plan confused. They rushed through the movie and then drew out the sea serpent battle. I actually got bored during the sea serpent battle but the rest of the movie I was totally in confusion and trying to get into the characters but having major problems because of the fast pace.

By the end of the movie I was confused why with all the rushing they did in that movie why anyone watching it would actually cry. Now for the costumes. The costumes were well made for the most part and really creative. Except for the fact I would have liked Lucy to at some point get a dress(like on the Lone Islands or something.)I loved the costumes.

Also, I would have liked for a time to have Lucy barefoot. But I didn't like the armor they wore during the Dark Island. I gave them an A. The Makeup/Prosthetics was very done. I gave them an A.
That is my overall grading for Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Penelope rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated it with an A+. It had humor, romance, and fantasy all rolled up in one. Plus, if you wanted a cool wedding dress just get one like Penelope's. It was awesome! Firstly, the movie had James McAvoy in it so any fans of him should watch it. Secondly, the movie had Peter Dinklage in it so any fans of him should watch it too. Now of course, they had other big names actors but I only knew those two from Narnia. Anyway, the story is about a girl who comes from a family with a curse. The curse gave her a pig like snout and cute little slightly pointed curly ears. She has been kept inside all her life and since she is a high society blue blood she has learned a lot. Anyway, the curse says that one of her own kind must accept her and live with her forever for the spell to be broken. So, her mom gets a matchmaker to help get her a guy. Well, I don't want to spoil any more. Just watch the movie!

Sonny with a Chance Season 1 Episode 1: ''Sketchy Beginnings"Rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated it with a C. It really didn't have a lot of humor and didn't include Chad Dylan Cooper. (Which is half the humor of the other episodes.) It was a story about a young girl by the name of Sonny Munroe. She is a regular farm girl in Wisconsin, when she gets a call for an acting job to act on her favorite show ''So Random.''''So Random'' is really a random show. We see several clips of the show during each of the episodes. This particular episode we see several of their sketches of the ''So Random'' show. The best one is called''Dolphin Boy''. It's a sketch about a boy half dolphin and half boy, asking out a cheerleader. But most of this episode consists of Sonny and Tawni a girl on show who dislikes her getting into a fight. I am really glad I didn't see this episode first and instead saw episode 2 first, because otherwise I wouldn't have probably liked this tv show.

Camp Rock Rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated it with an A-. This was a really cool movie. ( I only watched this movie because Demi Lovato was in it. I am a Sonny with a Chance Fan.) Most of the times, I skip the songs in musicals because I am not big on music if it isn’t background music. Although I think musicals are hilarious. (My sister who is an Austenite (Jane Austen fan)agrees with me that musicals are hilarious.) (I skipped most of the music in The Little Mermaid.) (That means half the movie.) I loved the storyline . For those who don’t know I will give a summary of this movie. Mitchie, a poor school girl who has only one friend, wants to go to a camp called Camp Rock. But her mom can only afford it if she agrees to cook for the camp and Mitchie helps in the kitchen. So, Mitchie agrees. When she goes to camp she lies to become part of the popular group and she becomes a music back up for Tess (the stuck up at camp). But she doesn’t really enjoy it. She runs into Shane Gray (a pop music star who is teaching classes at camp because of bad publicity.) quite a few times at camp and they become friends. Tess finds out that her mother is a cook and exposes it to everyone including Shane. He gets mad at Mitchie (he thinks she is trying to get close to him so she can use him.)and doesn’t believe anything she says is true. Then, before Final Jam Tess claims that Mitchie and Kathlryn (Mitchie’s only true friend there) stole her charm bracelet, and though they didn’t they can’t prove that they are innocent. The girls get band from entering The Final Jam competition. I won’t tell you what happens at the end for those who haven’t watched it and don’t me to spoil the ending for them.
Spoiler beware (don’t read if you haven’t watched the movie): The last part though slightly confuses me. How did Shane get over being mad at Mitchie when all she did to make up for it was sing a song? She didn’t say she wasn’t reporting to the magazine in that song. I don’t know, maybe once he found out it was her he didn’t care anymore. So, because I was slightly confused at the end, I rated it down to an A-. But I had a sudden thought when watching it for the third time, what if she sang a different song at the end, I mean she wrote a lot of songs, then he wouldn’t been able to find her and it would have been hilarious, and the movie would be pointless.

Mandie and the Secret Tunnel Rated By Rebekah Walton

I rated it with an A-. It was a really cool movie, and I loved the accurate parts to the book. I really loved that Lexi played Mandie. She was perfect Mandie. It was really to cool to to get the Mandie DVD free. (Which I got because I entered a fan contest.)I enjoyed the actress (Amanda Waters) who played Polly she was a perfect Polly. I didn't really care for the fact that in the movie Jim Shaw died by a wolf killing him not by getting sick. So, Mandie got blamed for her dad dying. But I loved the speech of the pastor of in the movie opposed to the book and I loved the cool way they told about the story of Mandie's grandma. I missed Mrs. Snow's annoying daughter. I really recommend this movie for those who enjoyed or didn't enjoy the book. I loved it. Thank you Lost World Pictures and Kalon Media.

The Patriot Rated by Rebekah Walton

I watched this yesterday, the fourth of July to celebrate our Independence from England. It was a really good movie but it was also sad. I rated it with an A+. The sad parts were basically all the people that died dieing. But it was realistic and I believe that sometimes when movies are good movies they not only have to have a good ending but they have to be realistic, so those people that died made the move sad but realistic. I would like to say this was nothing compared to Saving Private Ryan which I have watched twice. Even though, there were a lot of sad parts there were a lot of happy and funny parts too. The funny and happy parts include: the ink in Gabriel and Anne’s teeth, Benjamin Martin trying to dismantle the rocking chair of the Redcoat’s to see why it worked when all of his chairs did not, Susan saying,‘‘Poppa, Poppa don’t leave.’’ Gabriel and his father Benjamin eating apples slices before the Gabriel’s wedding, the dogs following them, Gabriel talking to Anne’s father (every time he talked to him it was happy or funny), Anne’s good speech in the church before a lot of men enlisted for war including the Preacher, and a lot of other funny and happy parts. This was a great movie and except for a few comments about the French and the good people dieing this is an awesome movie. This should be seen every Fourth of July.

Prince Caspian Rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated Prince Caspian the movie with a B+.(I love the book Prince Caspian.)It was a really a great movie although a bit puzzling if you are unfamiliar with the book. I am a Narnia Purist.I know they had huge mistakes in it, like the Romantic relationship between Caspian and Susan(worst mistake they ever made, creating a fan club of Susapian romance when Caspian gets married to some one else in the next story.), and such. But overall it was a well made movie. I think this really gets to the point where I was enjoying this movie more with the Commentary of Narniaweb more than just watching the movie . Just to tell you a little bit though how that helped (the commentary )to calm me down I'll show you the one I wrote after I watched the movie. But just a second, first I want to tell you that the I loved the shots and the parts they got right and nailed in this movie. Although, I will probably not go to liking Prince Caspian more than The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe but I decided I am done talking about just the problems with this movie. I will talk about the parts they nailed too. Read my reviews I wrote before this one:http://jumproping.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html. (They are also on the old Narniaweb website. I don't know how to find them on the new website.)
I take a more optimistic view on this. I understand it was a hard book to make it in to a movie. And I felt that although sometimes I was left with an,'' Oh, they ruined that scene,'' I was also quite in awe after the Narniaweb Commentary of all the special effects and cool shots in it and the parts they nailed. I recommend as always I will recommend when watching a movie that has a book, the same thing. First, read the book then watch the movie. If you get the same feelings you got in the movie in the book it its a well adapted story. This is not a well adapted story overall but they nailed a couple parts.

A collection of Fortunate Happenings rated By Rebekah Walton

I rated with an A. It was a cool story about 3 orphans finding treasure. It was yes a parody on Series of Unfortunate Events. But it had other lines from different movies as in when boy asks the evil banker,''Did you kill my father?'' The evil banker replies,''No, I am.....(long pause)..not responsible for your father's death.'' It was really funny overall, and though it claimed to be a pointless movie it really did have several points. This was a semi-finalist of the shorts at the festival. You really should watch this!!!

The Widow's Might rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated with an A++. It is a really cool movie. It is about a two boys who want to create a movie for a film festival, and help a widow not lose her house at the same time. It is a musical western, and it's funny. I watched at the San Antonio Christian Independent film festival.I voted for this for Audience's choice. And it won, both Best of Festival and Audience's choice. I really recommend you watch this. It had really good funny parts. I even got the signature of John Moore the director of the film. Watch this Please!!!

Throw a few things on the ground rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated with an A. It was a pretty good movie. It was all in French with English subtitles. It was a story of a young African man who became a Christian and then witnessed to his whole town. It really had no funny parts, but it was well made. It was believable too. I watched this at the San Antonio Christian Independent Film Festival. It was one of the feature film finalists. I recommend watching it.Please watch it.

The Sound of a Dirt Road rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated it with a A+. It was funny and emotional. It was about a Texas Rancher. His name was John Crowe. I have never really liked love Triangles(actually it's not really a Love triangle because Jeremiah and John are not friends ever.) and in most cases I avoid stories which have them but in this movie this was not the case. It had a really good title and I just had to watch it. And I really liked it. Trust me there is no way you could like the guy the girl does not marry. In fact, you feel John Crowe is perfectly justified in punching the man right in the chin. After watching this movie I wanted to go walking and leaping and praising God. Please watch this movie.

The secrets of Jonathan Sperry rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated it with an A. It was very funny, and somewhat sad at the end. But overall it was a very well done movie. In was created to seem like a true story with epilogues at the end. It made me think of Sugar Creek Gang. It was a story about three boys who one of the boys has a crush on this girl named Tanya. He wants to ask her out, but can’t ask her in person. So, he gets advise from Mr. Sperry who pays him for moving his lawn. Oh, yeah, just before I forget one the characters in this movie does die. So, remember to grab tissues before you watch this movie.Well, I would recommend everyone to watch this. The sound tract won for best sound tract at the San Antonio Christian Film Festival.

Pilgrim’s Progress: Journey to Heaven rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated it with a B+. It was an okay movie. I missed that they didn’t mention Elijah and Enoch, but overall it was pretty correct to the book. But it was a little modern. It certainly wasn’t as good as Fireproof. But it was not all that funny of course the book wasn’t funny. But I have fond anything slightly funny to get higher up on the scale with me then no humor. Also, it was only how Christian made it to heaven, they did not have his wife’s story as well in the movie. Overall, if you want a movie correct to the book the movie is that. Everyone who loved the book would like this movie.
