Voyage of the Dawn Treader rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated with a C-. One positive thing before I tell you why I gave it this grade, this movie gave me more respect for Prince Caspian. So, much to the effect that I have now changed my rating for Prince Caspian. To do this rating though I decided to look over each factor of the movie and tell you and overview of what I thought of each.

Later, if I have a lot of time on my hands I might go shot by shot telling you what I don't like and what I do. It will be much longer than my Narniaweb one.Now for an overview of Acting. The acting I thought was done very well in general. I loved Will Poulter's acting! (He was the best, if anything that is what saved this movie from being a complete fluke.)

Skandar was pretty good at acting too but there were a few almost fakey spots. Although,I don't know that I can blame him, it could be the director telling him to do that. Georgie had sorta of odd ways of saying her lines and some were totally creepy again I don't know if I can blame her. But I guess if that was just her than I guess her acting was just okay.

Ben Barnes seemed to have the same problems as Skandar. They both had problems with acting sad that they found lords dead. Their mourning didn't last long. Skandar had problems with acting sad about Eustace burning. Again, I am not sure whether it is their fault only. But in general I gave it a A. Next, I will overview what I thought directing was. If I am really blaming the horrible movie on the director Apted then it should be a pretty bad rating and it is. They also had some pretty cheesy lines through the movie.I gave directing a C.

Digital Effects were very well done compared to some of the other things in this film. There were some to be sure like the Dufflepuds that needed improvement and some shots of Aslan. But overall, I thought it was very well done and I even liked the dragon, even though I think it looks weird on the poster. I gave that an A. The music at times was distracting like during the Duel between Reepicheep and Eustace and during the other Duel between Caspian and Edmund. I kept looking for people playing musical instruments on the ship.

I loved the Cinematography! I know that other people had problems with it but I am not usually go at noticing if the shots look bad. I really loved the shots of locations and things. I gave that an A.The adaptation is the part of the movie I gave the worst rating to. I gave it a D. They kinda of took the name and cut out the plot of the story in the book and then added another plot. I guess they still had a little of the really plot left but most of it was covered up by the plot they made up. A fragment of the plot made it through the film.

There was no really going out to find adventure and honor in the end. Although the honor was there in the beginning. Not to mention the plot they put in didn't made a whole lot of sense. What was the green mist doing? Why was it doing what it was doing? By the end of it you were plan confused. They rushed through the movie and then drew out the sea serpent battle. I actually got bored during the sea serpent battle but the rest of the movie I was totally in confusion and trying to get into the characters but having major problems because of the fast pace.

By the end of the movie I was confused why with all the rushing they did in that movie why anyone watching it would actually cry. Now for the costumes. The costumes were well made for the most part and really creative. Except for the fact I would have liked Lucy to at some point get a dress(like on the Lone Islands or something.)I loved the costumes.

Also, I would have liked for a time to have Lucy barefoot. But I didn't like the armor they wore during the Dark Island. I gave them an A. The Makeup/Prosthetics was very done. I gave them an A.
That is my overall grading for Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
