Overview of the teaser trailer for Dawn Treader by Rebekah Walton

For now I am doing an overview of the Dawn Treader Teaser Trailer I will do a more in depth view of each part of the trailer in posts to come. This is the link to the Trailer:
http://www.narniaweb.com/2010/06/the-voyage-of-the-dawn-treader-trailer-is-here/
Anyway here is my overview:
Okay, Blow by blow :
Opening shot in Cambridge with recruitment posters
Recruitment Officer: Are you sure you’re 18?
Edmund: Why, do I look older?
Lucy: Edmund, you’re supposed to be helping me with the groceries.
Other boys in line: [laughter] Good luck next time eh squirt?

My thoughts: Funny! Edmund thinks spending a summer at the Scrubbs is worse then being in the army. So, he is enlisting in the army hoping that he won't have to spend the summer with the Scrubbs. Also, I think of the leaked Dawn Treader script they were going to have Edmund and Lucy come back from shopping for the Scrubbs. The Scrubbs told them to get something at the store. I suppose that this is really just this scene in a different way. I think I might be rolling in laughter when I see it in the theaters if this is the case. Hilarious scene! I am guessing this is the opening scene.

Outside of the recruitment building Edmund and Lucy load up their groceries on a bicycle
Edmund: Squirt! I’m a king.
Lucy: Not in this world.
My thoughts: Uh, I am a little bit worried here. Didn't they do this with Peter in the last film? Please don't ruin Ed in this film! But I am not going to worry too much. I hope they don't end up having these lines in the film. (They could take them out. I have seen deleted scenes in trailers before.)But if these are the only lines where Edmund says something to this effect I am okay.

20th Century Fox Logo and the Walden Media Logo

My thoughts: Well, if we were unsure Walden and Fox were doing this film we are sure they doing it now.

In the Scrubb household, Edmund and Lucy study a painting of an ocean with a tiny ship sailing on it
Edmund: Lucy, have you seen this ship before?

My thoughts: I thought it would be a bigger ship in the picture. I wish we had seen Harold and Alberta. But maybe that means they have a very small part.

A closeup of the painting and the waves are starting to roll and on one side a tiny trickle of water forms
Lucy: It’s very Narnian looking isn’t it?
My thoughts: The book! Hurrah!
In the same bedroom, all of a sudden the painting starts gushing water into the room and Edmund, Lucy and Eustace look dumbfounded
Eustace: What’s going on here?
Lucy: Edmund the painting!
Eustace yells and pulls it off the wall. Edmund and Lucy try to help, but water is rapidly filling the bedroom. Lucy screams and falls and suddenly the room is completely underwater with furniture floating around. They swim upwards towards the surface and just as they reach it and gasp for air Lucy turns and sees the Dawn Treader sailing towards them.
Lucy: Edmund!

My thoughts: Well, we knew what they changed. I am sorta of sad that Eustace didn't almost drown along with almost killing Lucy but it's okay.

Caspian and Lucy are hoisted out of the water onto the ship. Lucy, now in Narnian clothes looks into a mirror and sees her reflection and Aslan looking back at her.
Lucy: Aslan.
Aslan: Welcome. You have come far, but your journey lies beyond.

My thoughts: That's a cool elavator like thing that Caspian and Lucy are on. I am guessing Coriakin's island. But then again it looks like Lucy just woke up from a nap so maybe the on the ship or on the Lone Islands.

A shot of the Dawn Treader sailing away from an island at sunset. A shot of a minotaur on board as well as a couple crew members in the background. A shot of Lucy and Edmund standing on deck wrapped in blankets.
Lucy: Reepicheep!
Reepicheep bows.
Reepicheep: Your majesties!

My thoughts: Hmm....well, I didn't notice Reepicheep's voice change. Did you?

A shot of a mermaid swimming in the water next to the ship. She waves and Lucy waves back.

My thoughts: Mermaid! Yes! But the mermaid is a clear color. Noooo! Although I guess it could really be a niad. Question is why are we seeing a niad if it is one?

Edmund: So if there are no wars to fight, then why are we here?
Caspian walks through a door followed by Edmund and someone else. Edmund looks through a spyglass. A shot of an island surrounded by fog. A shot of Coriakin magically throwing a map across the floor.
Coriakin: You are all about to be tested.

My thoughts: Well, we knew that they put more plots in this movie than the one in the book.

A shot of Eustace peeking through something. Smoking tendrils surround the ship and head towards the crew members. One in particular heads towards Edmund.
White Witch: Edmund, I can make you my king.
A vision of the White Witch
White Witch: And much more.

My thoughts: Seriously, Witch haven't you realized that doesn't work. Edmund is not going to fall for that. Edmund is already King and much more. I know that this is only a dream but really, did you have to make her say that? ''Are you really stupid as all that?''- Narnia Book Quote

Lucy blows across the cover of the Magician’s Book and the letters on the front of it arrange into The Book of Incantations. She opens it. She sees a reflection of herself on one page and then begins to transform into Susan.
Lucy: I’m beautiful.
Lucy hears a lion roar and jumps away from the book as pages quickly turn away from the page. Next shot is Lucy standing in the Magician’s room as snow is falling all around her. She gazes up in wonder.

My thoughts: Nooo!!!!!!!!!! Susan is not beautiful beyond the lot of mortals! Ugh! But I wish we had seen something of Marjorie Preston.

Coriakin: You have an extraordinary destiny.
Reepicheep quickly climbs up the mast of the Dawn Treader where he reaches the crow’s nest and looks out smiling.
Coriakin: Something greater than you could have imagined.

My thoughts: Reepicheep goes to the crow's nest ! Yes!

Narrator: From C. S. Lewis’ epic masterpiece…

My thoughts: Glad to know they are taking this story from the book!

Shot of the crew aboard the Dawn Treader with Drinian at the helm. Shot of what is likely Narrowhaven. Shot of RD glowing beautifully.
Ramandu's daughter: The fate of Narnia depends on you.
Narrator: This Christmas…
Edmund holds Rhindon in his hand. It’s glowing blue. RD turns back into a star and shoots into the heavens while Caspian, Edmund, and Lucy look on.

My thoughts: Ramandu's daughter is the blue star like in the leaked script. Nooo! But on the other hand Edmund gets to hold a cool sword. Supposedly, Rhindon is not just Peter the High King's sword but also, a glow in the dark sword.Or I guess it could be like Sting in LOTR.

Narrator: Return to Hope
Shot of a faun doing a flip in Narrowhaven and kicking someone. Shot of Lucy aboard the Dawn Treader about to fire an arrow.
Narrator: Return to Magic

My thoughts: awww! A fight. Well, we have the tag lines that don't make any sense.

In the magician’s study, suddenly where he was once invisible, Coriakin turns around with a book in his hand. Shot changes to the Dufflepuds bouncing around on one foot with Eustace standing in the middle of them looking dumbfounded.
Chief Dufflepud: This place just gets weirder and weirder.
Narrator: Return to Narnia

My thoughts: Cool! Monopods! First when I watched this I thought Eustace said it. I had to watch it again to realize that I could see him and he wasn't talking. Tagline that doesn't make sense again.

Shot of Caspian, Edmund, Lucy, Eustace, and Reepicheep paddling a rowboat through the sea of lilies. Shot of Aslan standing on dry ground next to Caspian, Edmund, Eustace, Lucy, and Reepicheep while holding back a wave.
Aslan: You have returned for a reason. Your adventure begins now.

My thoughts: The Lillies! Hurrah! Goodbye, farewell scene most likely. I didn't think ASlan was holding back the waves either. I guess it could be Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy, and Reepicheep. Although, I am still wondering why Reep is here if it is farewell.

Shot of Peter. Shot of Susan. Shot of Lucy. Shot of Edmund. Aslan standing on the shore roars.
End credits. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader form out of spiked rocks and then turn into the well known logo with the Dawn treader seen sailing in the background between snowy mountains. Christmas. 3D.
Narrator: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Directed by Michael Apted. This December in Digital 3D.

My thoughts: Uh.....I hope this is a dream scene(the scene with Peter and Susan)...I like the logo in the rocks! What else can I say?
