Why I am a Narnia Purist Fan by Rebekah Walton

I guess I am going to explain why I am a Narnia book Purist. Besides the fact I believe we are born with this impairment, being a purist of certain books or not, I believe there is more to it than this. For me little things create a connect for me between the books and movies. I mean I would love for the big things to be correct to the book, but I enjoyed sometimes the little things so much and I feel a loss of connection if they aren't there. Of course while I wanted the purple sail I wanted the Aslan scene at the end of Dawn Treader perfect and I wanted the cool scene between Edmund and Eustace. In fact, sometimes it is hard to determine whether certain things are big or little, sometimes they are really big to me but don't matter to any one else. In PC, I was involved in a discussion about whether Narnia fans would allow Edmund's torch to be called a flashlight in the movie. I really would have done something to somebody if they had called the torch a flashlight in the movie. (Probably rant for ages.) In LWW, I was disappointed when they didn't use old English at the very end of the movie when they were kings and queens. To me although it may seem like a small thing to some it was huge to me. The Horse and His Boy, the first book I read of the Narnia series, is my third favorite book because of the funny scenes they had in the book. To me Rabadash and his father's talk was funny because they addressed each other not like father and son but like peasant addressing monarch. Of course, I also thought the details of Aravis and Shasta getting married so they could get into fights and make up more conveniently was funny too. I want to feel that the book is some how connected with the movie. So, that is why I am a Narnia book purist and I wanted a purple sail.
