Prince Caspian Rated by Rebekah Walton

I rated Prince Caspian the movie with a B+.(I love the book Prince Caspian.)It was a really a great movie although a bit puzzling if you are unfamiliar with the book. I am a Narnia Purist.I know they had huge mistakes in it, like the Romantic relationship between Caspian and Susan(worst mistake they ever made, creating a fan club of Susapian romance when Caspian gets married to some one else in the next story.), and such. But overall it was a well made movie. I think this really gets to the point where I was enjoying this movie more with the Commentary of Narniaweb more than just watching the movie . Just to tell you a little bit though how that helped (the commentary )to calm me down I'll show you the one I wrote after I watched the movie. But just a second, first I want to tell you that the I loved the shots and the parts they got right and nailed in this movie. Although, I will probably not go to liking Prince Caspian more than The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe but I decided I am done talking about just the problems with this movie. I will talk about the parts they nailed too. Read my reviews I wrote before this one:http://jumproping.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html. (They are also on the old Narniaweb website. I don't know how to find them on the new website.)
I take a more optimistic view on this. I understand it was a hard book to make it in to a movie. And I felt that although sometimes I was left with an,'' Oh, they ruined that scene,'' I was also quite in awe after the Narniaweb Commentary of all the special effects and cool shots in it and the parts they nailed. I recommend as always I will recommend when watching a movie that has a book, the same thing. First, read the book then watch the movie. If you get the same feelings you got in the movie in the book it its a well adapted story. This is not a well adapted story overall but they nailed a couple parts.

Saw your posts on Narnia and enjoyed reading them all; I also read your reviews on Narniaweb, and I liked how you pointed out Reepicheep's fantastic lines. I'm sure more reviews could celebrate the fantastic Reepicheep of the film - if we weren't all groaning over the Susaspian. I find it hilarious that even Barnes and Popplewell said in the DVD commentary - a year after - that they were so happy the flirting archery scene was cut.
